i live in apartments on a downstairs unit. what would be a good set or single speaker that wouldnt blow out my neighbors but at the same time give me good clarity and so forth?

I don't really know any specific brands but a good pair of studio monitors will do the job for you. Prices can range from $350 to $1000 and usually have a 6.5" or 8" driver. www.djdeals.com has some good prices and www.planetdj.com
