Is anyone good at repairing technics? Long story short soda spilled on technics 1210 MK5 turntable. Pitch control is sticky as hell. I need it broke open, cleaned up, and possibly a new pitch control if its all messed up.
I was thinking just limelight dj supply but Im pretty sure I will pay a lot of money there... as much as I wanna spend 40-50% of the turntable cost to get it fixed hopefully someone can do it at their house for something more reasonable !!

just find some tutorials online that shows you how to change them out. it shouldnt be too difficult. i actually took apart my mk2's and i thought it was quite easy considering i had to do some re-soddering to get rid of the damn "0" click in the pitch control.
and if youre not comfortable doing it yourself, then there's always limelight but they can be a bit pricey at times.

I've replaced a pitch fader on a 1200mk2 that I bought on ebay (didn't know it was messed up until it arrived). If you can work a soldering iron and screwdriver it's actually fairly easy. If the main board is fried from cola, that may be much harder. You can buy all parts straight from panasonic.
go to this website
http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/EpartR/PartslistChoice.asp?
type sl1200mk5 under search by model
and CLICK the button under it.
I think your part number is
REP2221A-3, but don't quote me on that

I've fixed a couple of 1200's before, everything from new rca's to replacing the pitch control...

JNS Phonograph Needles in Seattle is an excellent repair shop. Very reasonable rates, and one of the only turntable repair shops on the West Coast. More info here: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/311541_retail14.html
