I turned 21 over this past Spring Break, and I came to a semi-revelation, or more or less a deduction of sorts. My friends kept me awake and took me to Glo, in the midst on an insmonia-driven psychotic break, I came to what seemed to be a simple conlusion at the time and was agreed upon by many, but other thoughts are more than welcome:

On the Origins of Beauty
a Calxist template for manifestation within the masses

Life is a string of beautiful moments none of which are collective. Once pieced together they become tragedies, hence the beauty of Shakespeare to some. This in essence alludes to our obsession with great tragedy. We contemplate and pick apart life constantly making each and every action subconsciously premeditated and thus meaningless. In order for an action to be meaningful, it must be entirely without thought; beauty is not that which we *try* to create but that which *becomes* out of the unplanned. The unplanned is considered the equivalent to chaos in the eyes of most men, and therefore beauty derives from chaos.

That seems to make sense... The funnest, most meaningful events in my life have probably been the ones that were not planned, or planned with very little intent. For example, I may plan to go spend a weekend with my sister... But the things we will do, the people we will meet, and the things we will learn happen at the random will of fate.
I had planned to go to Evolve, made specific plans even, but come to find out, I can't go. So instead, I spent the time with the people I would've went with, and we did whatever felt natural at that time... One of the best times I have ever experienced.
Maybe people feel too out of control to handle spontanaety [sp], but to all those who welcome it, it is a happy change from the ordinary...

not to say spontaneity is key to happiness, but for some it can be essential to allowing the memory to stick with you. Memories are an odd business; while they all the while might not be the absolute of "beauty," they are to an individual. The meaning of a memory indeed differs from individual to individual, but it always remains the beauty upon which we reflect and base our emotions upon.

Oh yeah, I totally understand what you're saying... I definitely don't think one who lives in a world of planning is going to be bored all the time... But I do believe in randomness... I think it's fun. [would add a winking face here, but it seems there is none]...
As for memories, they are beautiful: they are little reminders of the lessons you've learned, and help you continue to grow... In my opinion, at least.
