FIRTST FRIDAY ART SHOW

LOCATED AT THE ARTS FACTORY

AND THE FUNKHOUSE ON CASINO CENTER AND COLORADO

THIS MONTH:

tHE PAC CREW FROM SAN FRAN

As you may already know, VegasArtists.com will not be hosting our usual
stage in front of the Funkhouse on October 1st, and will instead be focusing
on the Spaced Invaders after party. We are putting our full support behind
the
Pacific Art Collective, who will be flying in artists from Los Angeles,
San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and Santa Cruz to perform in front of the
Funkhouse for their first annual, out-of-town event. They have worked hard
for two years to raise the funds to pull this off, so please be sure to
check out what PAC is doing, make them feel welcome, and show them your
support!

The Pacific Art Collective aims to represent the culture of the Pacific
region of the U.S. on a global scale. You can learn more about them at
their website: http://www.pacificartcollective.com

SPACED INVADERS

An Interactive First Friday After Party

Celebrating the 2-year anniversary of First Friday!

Friday, October 1, 2004
9:30 PM – 3:00 AM
FREE

Located @ Snick’s Place, Aloha Laundry, & Neon Grfx, 1402 S. 3rd St.
From the Funkhouse, head 1 block east, then 1 block south (just follow the signs)
Map available at http://www.VegasArtists.com/spaced.html

COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED, as is anything spacey and otherworldly that you own or have created, bring it on! Snick’s has great drink prices, and snacks are available inside the Aloha Laundry, where you will also find musical performers and art. There is also creating a unique chill space out back to get away from the noise with space themed videos, more art that you won’t see at First Friday, and a great overall vibe throughout the entire block. So please come down and check this out, because it’s an experiment and we don’t know what’s going to happen!

Outside in the alley:

mini-Shithoof Film Festival

Featuring the work of some amazing Las Vegas filmmakers!

Inside the Aloha Laundry:

That 1 Guy

(Righteous Babe Records, San Francisco)
Check out the video on http://www.That1Guy.com

“All we as an audience could do was sit rapt, mouths gaping, and witness this amazing spectacle.”

“Like a one-man band plucked from the pages of Dr. Seuss, That 1 Guy delivers earthshaking future funk from ”the magic pipe” to accompany his madcap lyrics about turbo snails, meat storms, and weasel pot pies."

“That 1 Guy is one of the most prolific and insanely genius musicians we’ve met in quite some time. With a rap sheet a mile long, and a reputation for turning out live shows where ever he plays, this virtuoso is a class act all the way.”
