i think its already established among people that really know dance music that charlie may and oliver lieb are two of the most accomplished producers ever. but as far a mastering the use of melody in a track, what do you think of mr. may?

his remix of mandalay's 'deep love' has been owning me lately, as well as the 'bug ep'.

input.

Charlie May is one of the best producers around. He has been behind or worked with sasha on some of the sickest tracks of all time. Here are my some favorite Charlie May tracks.

Spooky - Little Bullet
William Orbit - Water From A Vine of A Leaf ( Spooky Mix)
Charlie May - Feeding the hand that bites
Sasha -Xpander
Any Sasha production before Xpander though I am not sure if May was a part of those tracks anyways.

I agree with AFS, CM is a good collaborator. Not to mention a talented producer by his own right.

But, when it comes down to it and I know know this is not the question, I prefer Lieb. I don't know why, he is just more my style.

lieb is great, his lsg stuff ranks up there as some of the best choons i've ever come across. however, the one thing he does that really bothers me is he is a template remixer. just as an example, take his remix of utah saint's 'lost vagueness' and his remix of warrior's 'voodoo'. they are EXACTLY the same music but with the vocal changed. that's piss poor and lacking originality in my book.

At one time I would have said lieb was the best producer ever. But after he recycled his songs the first 5 times...it pissed me off.
Lately I feel hes been n a rut.

I picked up "The Hive - Singles US Edition" back in November, and that "Down to Earth" track blows me away. Top notch Lieb. However, it under his LSG guise... which he never ceases to impress me with.
